The major difference between Hautelook and Zulily is the sense of urgency Hautelook creates while you're shopping. As soon as you put an item in your cart you're on the clock. You have 15 minutes to start the checkout process or you can loose the item to another shopper. Talk about stress! You can check your remaining time on each item but clicking on your cart and looking for the little pink countdown.
If someone else has the item you want in their cart it will say "On Hold," until they purchase it or their time runs out. There was one item I really wanted that was "On Hold" so I kept clicking refresh over and over hoping to snag it. When it because available again (yay!) I clicked add to cart and got an error message in my cart (boo!). I guess I wasn't the only one trying to snag it. Keep in mine you're probably eyeing the clock on the other stuff in your cart during all this - cue heart palpitations.
In the end I ended up buying a few items. I still don't know if its what I really wanted or if it was stuff I grabbed in the fog of war. I guess we will find out in 2-3 weeks when my eye shadow trios and face tanner arrive.
OK - I am actually excited about this stuff. I really don't love the high pressure sales tactics used on Hautelook's site, but I got 3 Lorac products for $21.95 including shipping, and these items normal retail for about $27 each. In the end I saved about 75% on my purchase which is pretty exciting. Hopefully I enjoy the products!
What do you think about Hautelook? Do you love the pressure? Have you found any amazing deals?
Edit: This arrived today, so two weeks from the day I ordered to the day I received which is a lot better than I expected!
I went back and bought a necklace from an event that started later that day. I guess its safe to say that Hautelook will be seeing more of me in the future :)
